26th National Track and Field Championships
The 26th National Track and Field Championships will be held this year in Riccione at the ‘Italo Nicoletti’ stadium, near the Swimming Stadium, from 5 to 8 September.
This annual event is one of the most important for Italian athletes, who will compete in various disciplines with the aim of winning the title of Italian champion.
The Races on the Programme
The championship includes a wide range of competitions, from sprint races to jumps and throws.
The main competitions include:
- Track races: such as the 100 and 200 metres, as well as longer distances such as the 1500 and 5000 metres
- Relay races
- Hurdle races
- Jumps: with the long jump, the high jump
- Throws: such as the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin.
The Importance of the Championship
In addition to decreeing the national champions, this championship is an important moment for all athletics fans in Italy. It is an event that involves not only some 2000 athletes from all over Italy and their teams, but also the public who follow the races with great interest.
